Kalki AD 2898: Amitabh Bachchan’s Look Grabs Fans Attention

The makers of the film ‘Kalki AD 2898’ dropped a short clip introducing Amitabh Bachchan as the immortal Ashwatthama. The netizens are going gaga over his look. The movie is a sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin. The character Aswatthama is known to be immortal in Indian mythology

The clip introducing Aswatthama depicts Amitabh having a conversation with a young boy. Amitabh’s de-aged version also catches the internet’s attention. The actor has a long beard, a moustache, and long hair with a yellow stone on the forehead.

Amitabh took to X and shared his character poster from the film, writing, “It’s been an experience for me like no other .. The mind to think such a product, the execution the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence.”

The teaser for the film was unveiled on Sunday. The movie is set to be released on June 20, 2024. Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Hassan will play key roles in the film. Disha Patani and Prabhas shot a song for the film in Italy.

The film starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD. It spans 6,000 years in time. We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian and not making it look like Blade Runner. Six thousand years behind 2898 AD is 3101 BCE, which is when the last avatar of Krishna is believed to have passed.

The film is shot in two languages, Telugu and Hindi, and delves into Hindu mythology. The character Kali is known as the tenth rebirth of Lord Vishnu. ‘Kalki AD 2898’ is one of the most expensive and high-budget films in Indian cinemas so far.
