The Japanese Telenovela Chainsaw Man was a sleeper hit for Hulu and Netflix during its first season, but will a season 2 of the manga series? Released on the channels and online platform in December 2022, the animated series follows the story of Denzi, an underprivileged young man. Featuring more twists and drama, Chainsaw Man is a quintessential series from Manga with a heaping helping of action, horror, and comedy. Though the series was initially released on TV Tokyo with little fanfare, it still managed to find its audience.
As such, Chainsaw Man joins many of the other great Japanese animated series that have found their way to the streaming service and gained an international audience because of their exposure on the platform.
Though Chainsaw Man season 1 found a sudden rush of success not long after it broadcasted and premiered on Netflix and Hulu, no word has come regarding season 2. But while Chainsaw Man Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed, there’s no reason to think that it has been cancelled either, since the animated series is so fresh. Meanwhile, the company isn’t always the fastest to make announcements regarding its original content, and some of its programs have been left in limbo for years before finally being renewed. However, the overwhelming success of Chainsaw Man Season One might spur the streamer and the TV channel to renew it sooner than usual to capitalise on its success.
