The SpaceX CEO has revealed his game plan to establish a human settlement on the planet Mars soon. In a recent announcement on X, Elon Musk said that he wants to send one million individuals to the red planet. He responded to a post by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, which stated, “Starship is the largest rocket ever built and it’ll take us to Mars.” In response to this, he said,
He suggested that this civilization would only survive if humanity were able to expand beyond Earth in the near future. Notably, the billionaire has always been quite vocal about his plans to establish a human colony on the red planet. He has not announced any timeline for the same; however, he has hinted that the ecological system on Mars would be able to serve without any support from Earth.
Interestingly, Musk also responded to another post on X on Monday, completely showcasing his interest in Mars. A post featuring Musk and his son captioned, “Having kids and spending time with them is the greatest joy in life.” To this, Musk replied,
With SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, Musk wants to take people way beyond their imagination. Although settling on Mars will be a quite hectic process, The X owner believes humans should live on planets other than Earth and explore the whole universe, and he also plans to build a base on the moon.
The space exploration company SpaceX, owned by Musk, is his way to fulfill his ambitions. Musk has earlier predicted that SpaceX’s Starship mega-rocket will be able to conduct an unmanned mission to Mars within the next three to four years.
