Former Cricketer and a present-time commentator and YouTuber made a statement in which he said both Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube should be considered for T20’s World Cup Team. Hardik, who took a break from cricket after he twisted his ankle during an ODI World Cup Match against New Zealand last year, is reportedly going to make his comeback as a captain of Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024. And, if he continues to make his presence in cricket matches, he will be able to start as India’s first-choice seam-bowling all-rounder in the ICC event that is set to schedule in the USA and West Indies.
On the contrary, in the absence of Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube made significant contributions in a match against Afghanistan.
An all-rounder, Shivam Dube got an opportunity to play in the middle of last year; he was initially warming the bench. Later, in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, he made full use of it.
In the matches that were scheduled in Mohali and Indore, Dube made back-to-back half-centuries and also picked wickets. Owing to his impressive performance, he was able to win the Player of the Series Award.

Chopra talked about Dube’s performance on his YouTube channel and said, Shivam Dube’s power is talking loudly. I felt he was sent off slightly early in the third match. You could have sent either Sanju Samson or Rinku Singh ahead of him because he is not a grafter, he is an attacker. He reminds me of Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh). So you need to keep him slightly down the order,”
Further, in the same vlog, the former cricketer, Aakash Chopra, said that both Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube should be playing in the ICC T20 World Cup.
The way he hit sixes in the first two matches, the power was evident. Some people have even said to leave Hardik and pick Dube. I am saying keep both. Shivam Dube is a real contender based on these three matches. If he does well in the IPL, it will be the icing on the cake,” concluded Aakash Chopra.
