A popular former model, Divya Pahuja, was murdered inside a hotel room on Tuesday in Gurugram with police claiming it was a murder. She was 27. Pahuja’s body has been sent for post-mortem and police are investigating the matter.
According to PTI, the police arrested the accused while they were taking her body to dump somewhere. Claims were that Divya Pahuja was carried by five people who allegedly shot her in the head because she used to extort money from the hotel owner by blackmailing him. Nevertheless, the claims were later refused by Divya’s family.
According to officials, the three accused are hotel’s owner Abhijeet Singh (56), a native of Model Town in Hisar, and his two employees — Hemraj (28), a resident of Nepal, and Omprakash (23), a resident of Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.
During the investigation, the officials across a CCTV footage of the Hotel City Point’s Lobby wherein the accused were seen dragging the body wrapped in a white sheet. While the officials confirmed that the murder took place after Divya continued to blackmail Abhijeet with his obscene pictures.
Nevertheless, Divya Pahuja’s sister, Naina Pahuja, in her statement claimed that slain gangster Sandeep Gadoli’s sister Sudesh Kataria and brother Brahm Prakash Kataria did a gangland contract killing with Abhijeet Singh to kill the former model.
Accused Abhijeet said that on January 2 he had come to Hotel City Point with Divya Pahuja and he wanted to delete his obscene photos from her phone but Divya Pahuja did not tell the password of her phone.” claimed a Police spokesperson Subhash Boken.
“Due to this Abhijeet shot dead Divya Pahuja and along with Hemraj and Om Prakash, who worked as cleaning and reception workers in the hotel. They kept the dead body in the accused Abhijeet’s BMW car.
“After this, accused Abhijeet called his two other associates and gave them his car to dispose of the dead body. Our teams are conducting raids to nab the accused and recover the body.”
In June 2023, Divya was granted bail by Bombay High Court, seven years after she was arrested in connection with a Gurugram gangster’s ‘fake’ encounter case in Mumbai.
