The trailer for the most awaited series of the year, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ was unveiled on Tuesday. The series is helmed by one of the most celebrated Indian directors, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. ‘Heeramandi’ is a blend of emotions, power, revenge, love and freedom.
The series is set against the backdrop of the 1940s, when India struggled for its freedom. The women also participated in the freedom struggle. The series delves deep into the cultural realities of district Heera Mandi. It stars Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manish Koirala, Fardeen Khan, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and more.
Heeramandi is all set to premiere on May 1 on Netflix. The makers of the series have released two songs, namely, Tilasmi Bahein and Sakal Ban. The songs are launched under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new venture, Bhansali Music.
Fardeen Khan has made a comeback after 14 years. At the trailer launch event in New Delhi, Fardeen got emotional and stated, “It’s daunting to work with him (Sanjay Leela Bhansali), but at the same time, when you see it all together, it just all makes sense. I’m getting emotional now… I am extremely grateful for this chance and so happy to be here.”
Several Bollywood celebrities praised and gave a shout-out to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alia Bhatt shared the trailer on her Instagram and wrote, “Uff!!! Just Magic!!!”,

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has announced his upcoming project ‘Love & War,’ which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. The film is the first collaboration between Vicky Kaushal and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In contrast, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have previously worked with him in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Saawariya,’ respectively. The movie will hit the theatres in late 2025.
