Disenchantment has 40 episodes, all of which are currently streaming on Netflix. The show was released in 4 parts, each containing 10 episodes. The Matt Groening-created show first premiered on August 17th, 2018. Disenchantment follows the adventurous tale of Luci, Elfo, and Bean through the Kingdom of Dreamland.
It’s been over 10 months since Part 4 was released. Netflix has yet to make an official decision on Disenchantment season 5. Netflix considers a number of factors when deciding whether to renew or cancel a show. The two primary metrics are performance and the cost-benefit of producing additional episodes. We anticipate 20 more episodes in Disenchantment season 5 to be delivered in a similar 10-episode burst if it is renewed.
Parts 3 and 4 were announced about a month after Part 2, around one month after the release of Season 1. Since then, there has been no official information. Some other serious signs are the deletion of all the Disenchantment trailers from YouTube. Social media accounts of Disenchantment have been inactive since February 9. Many animators associated with the show are now engaged with another show, Futurama.
If we take a look at the performance of the show, Season 4 had a good first week, but then we see a massive drop in the watch hours. Netflix released two weeks of data that showed the series scored 17 million watch hours in the first week and then fell to 12.3 million watch hours in the second week, a drop of 28%.
IMDB Movie meter also suggested the failure of season 4 to match the pace of the previous seasons. Disenchantment concluded with Part 5, marking the end of the series. Stay tuned with us for further updates on NetflixTrends.
The entire fourth season of Disenchantment was dropped on February 9th, 2022. Since then, there has been no official information on whether the show is being renewed or canceled.
Depending on Netflix’s performance metrics, the show may get canceled after season 4. There is very little chance of part 5.
The story is not over yet. But part 4 could be the last as the chances of cancellation of the show are high.
