The West Bengal CM suffered a cut and bled from her forehead after falling at her Kalighat residence on Thursday.
After the consultation, the doctor stated that CM Mamata Banerjee was “pushed from behind” at her south Kolkata residence on Thursday evening, which led to a head injury. Mamata Banerjee felt a “sensation of being pushed from behind” that led to her fall.
CM’s brother Kartick Banerjee told the media that Mamata bled from her forehead and suffered a cut on the nose after falling at the Kalighat residence; she was rushed to the state-run SSKM Hospital around 7:30 p.m. and was discharged with three stitches on her forehead and one on the nose around 9:30 p.m. After several tests, the doctors confirmed that her condition was stable.
Dr Manimoy Bandopadhyay, the head of the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research at SSKM Hospital, briefed the media late on Thursday night that “Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee reported to our hospital today around 7:30 p.m. with a history of fall within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind. She had a cerebral concussion and a sharp cut over her forehead, which was bleeding profusely…”
This is not an issue. Maybe our statement was misinterpreted. It was like a sensation of being pushed from behind that led to the fall. It happens when a person falls.

Despite providing Z-Plus category security for the chief minister, the Kolkata Police have remained silent on the topic. “No member of the chief minister’s family has lodged any complaint,” a city police officer said on condition of anonymity.
