When will Damnation leave Netflix in the United States?
The series is also set to leave Netflix US but will stay for a while. The series does not carry Netflix Original branding but is licensed by Netflix. Some intel suggests that the rights for Damnation on Netflix US are likely to expire on November 7th, 2023. The date coincides exactly five years with the launch date in the US.
Damnation is adorned by the amazing talent of Sarah Jones, Christopher Heyerdahl, Killian Scott, Chasten Harmon, Logan Marshall-Green, Joe Page, and Melinda Page Hamilton.
The period drama created by Tony Tost follows the American labor wars of the Great Depression. Seth Davenport, who has a violent past, poses as a mentor and encourages the people to stand up against corrupt local banks, greedy industrialists, newspapers, and the sheriff’s department. Rich industrialist hires Creeley Turner, an ex-con to scrunch Davenport and the townfolk’s strike. Neither the people of Iowa nor the industrialists are aware of Creeley and Seth being estranged brothers.
NBC Universal produced the series for USA Network and Netflix licensed it serving as a co-producer. NBC Universal owns the inherent rights to the show.
Damnation is not the only Netflix Original series departing the platform in January 2023. Thieves of the Wood, Yummy Mummies, and Back with the Ex is also leaving Netflix. Dozens of Netflix Originals have departed and plenty more are going to in upcoming years.
