Heartstopper, a Netflix Original romantic drama series has been a hit among the youth worldwide. The series is the adaptation of the graphic novel by author Alice Oseman. She is the executive producer and creator of the series.
We can see almost all the cast from season 1 reprise their roles in season 2.
In Oct 2022, Netflix announced three new casts for Heartstopper season 2.
If the series stayed faithful to the source material, the graphic novel, then we can expect the introduction of Nick’s older brother. He is homophobic and does not support the bisexuality of his younger sibling. We will see the mental health and eating disorders of Charlie.
The reaction of the school to Nick and Charlie’s relationship will be interesting to see. And, what will happen when the school plans a trip to the city of love, Paris?
Nick and Charlie have already faced homophobia from Charlie’s abusive ex-boyfriend Ben and a rich spoiled kid Harry. The young couple will face distress and more trials from the world with the revelation of their relationship.
Along with Nick and Charlie, we can see the relationship between Tao and Elle, and Tara and Darcy in season 2.

In the first week, the series scored 14 million watch hours and ranked 7 overall and No. 1 in the top 10. In the second week, the series witnessed a massive spike of 65% growth in viewership and pulled 23 million watch hours ranking no. 5 overall and no. 2 in the top 10. And In the third week, a decline was seen in viewership with a 37% dip. The series scored 14 million watch hours and ranked no. 6 in overall and no. 3 in the top 10.
Heartstopper got featured in the top 10 list of 67 countries including the UK, Australia, the US, and Canada. The series scored 9th position in the United States but did exceptionally well in the UK scoring 2nd in the top 10 list.
According to some sources, filming of the series will take place from 13 September to 20 December 2022. As per this report and some images, the shooting for season 2 is ongoing.
Alice Oseman, the creator of Heartstopper, said, “I haven’t done any in-detail planning or anything, but it’s quite easy to divide up the books into seasons, so four I think would do it.” to the RadioTimes.
