Filmmaker and screenwriter Ram Gopal Varma announced on Thursday that he is joining politics ahead of the elections in 2024. He will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Pithapuram, Andhra Pradesh. Ram Gopal Varma took to X and wrote, “Sudden decision. Am happy to inform that I am contesting from Pithapuram.” The filmmaker did not disclose any further information. Ram made the announcement soon after the Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party-Jana Sena Party (JSP) alliance declared that Tollywood actor and JSP chief Pawan Kalyan would be fielded from the Pithapuram seat.
