Actor Sanjay Dutt dismissed rumours of him joining politics. The actor took to X and clarified that he was not joining politics or contesting the election. This is not the first time that he has denied rumours of his joining politics. In 2019, the actor was asked to join Rashtriya Samaj Paksha.
The actor wrote, “I would like to put all rumours about me joining politics to rest. I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I do decide to step into the political arena then I will be the first one to announce it. Please refrain from believing what is being circulated in the news about me as of now.” Dutt clearly stated that if he were to join politics, he would announce it and urged people not to believe in rumours.
There were rumours that Sanjay Dutt might contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a candidate for Congress from Karnal, Haryana. Sanjay Dutt belongs to a family with a political background. The actor’s father served the Congress-led Manmohan Singh government, and his sister, Priya Dutt, is a Member of Parliament.
Sanjay Dutt has a lineup of movies; he will reportedly be seen in ‘Hera Pheri 3,’ sharing screen with Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. Another film that he has lined up is ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ which features Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, and more. The film will mark its release on December 20, 2024. Dutt will also star in the sci-fi horror comedy film ‘The Virgin Tree,’ which features Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari.
Recently, actors like Kangana Ranaut and Govinda joined politics. Kangana will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mandi as a BJP candidate whereas Govinda has joined Eknath Shinde’s group of Shiv Sena.
