Solo Leveling Season 2: Release Date, Plot Details, and Where to Watch

Solo Leveling was one of the most anticipated new anime releases of the Winter 2024 season. Now, word has come out that season 2 will come out months after season 1 ends. Solo Leveling anime season 2 will premiere in January 2025, as revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest 2024 livestream. This means that Jinwoo’s escapades will once again take center stage in the winter anime schedule. Fans who have been waiting all summer for Sung Jinwoo to fully embrace his role as Shadow Monarch will be pleased to hear this news as the summer comes to a close.

A dramatic turn of events occurs in the final moments of Solo Leveling season 1 when Jinwoo embarks on his journey as a Shadow Monarch, with the ability to resurrect his victims’ bodies and use them as his minions. Featuring stunning key art and the announcement of a preview screening event, Japanese voice actors Taito Ban (Jinwoo) and Reina Ueda (Cha Hae-in) have released the first look at Solo Leveling season 2, along with a video. The anime will air weekly beginning in January 2025, but lucky fans will get to see Solo Leveling—ReAwakening in Korean cinemas on November 28, 2024, and Japanese theaters on November 29, 2024.

What to Expect from Solo Leveling Season 2?

Each episode of Solo Leveling’s first season adapted four chapters of the webtoon; the last episode adapted the webtoon up to Chapter 45 and ended with the Job Change Arc. Season 2 is expected to begin with the Red Gate Arc (Chapter 46) and end with either the early events of the Jeju Island Arc (up to Chapter 89) or the Return to Demon Castle Arc (up to Chapter 46), assuming a similar tempo.

Seeing Jin-Woo acquire such incredible abilities was indeed a mind-blowing experience, and the Solo Leveling anime has exposed us to several powerful characters from the universe. We may get to witness his ability evolution in the upcoming season, but he still has a ways to go before he becomes the greatest hunter.

Even though Jin-Woo was the worst of the bunch, the architect still picked him, and maybe the upcoming season will explain why. First and foremost, the documentary “The Leveling of Solo Leveling” inadvertently revealed the identity of a major character who would be introduced in the upcoming season. In the Jeju Island arc, Jin-Woo faces up against the legendary Ant King Beru.

What are the expected Solo Leveling Season 2 episodes?

Thirteen episodes will make up season 2 of Solo Leveling. Aniplex has commissioned 25 episodes, therefore that’s why. Although in Japan it is technically the second part of the first season, Crunchyroll has simplified things and just called it season 2.

Partitioning anime seasons is nothing new; the most well-known example of this in the last season of Attack on Titan was the several courses. So far, Solo Leveling has covered 45 chapters of the 200-chapter webtoon, so there’s still a lot of work to be done!

To pass the time until additional information becomes available, we have compiled a list of the top Isekai anime as well as other great anime similar to Solo Leveling.

How can I watch Solo Leveling Season 2?

You may view a limited collection of shows (typically just subtitled versions) with ads on Crunchyroll with a basic subscription, which is free. The ‘Fan’ tier on Crunchyroll costs £4.99/$7.99 and allows you to watch new shows ad-free one hour after they air in Japan. The ‘Mega Fan’ tier, on the other hand, costs £5.99/$9.99 and allows you to download shows for offline viewing and stream on four devices simultaneously.
