Asur is an Indian Hindi-language psychological crime thriller series. Its first season premiered on March 2, 2020, on Voot, while the title received its second season on June 1, 2023, which aired on Jio Cinema.

The series revolves around a team of forensic experts who work together to catch a serial killer who thinks of himself as an incarnation of the asura Kali. His thought process is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology, ultimately provoking him to commit atrocious murders. What is the plot of Asur?

The storyline focuses on a serial killer whose mindset is deeply connected to Hindu mythology. The eight-episode first season sees this sociopath committing murder and violent and gory acts. It is also the digital debut of Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, who plays the role of Dhananjay Rajpoot, a senior forensic expert. His character is intense and egoistic, and he takes no nonsense from others. He tries his best to solve the mystery behind these murders, partnered with TV’s lover boy, Barun Sobti. Barun plays the role of Nikhil Nair, a forensic expert turned teacher.

The second season of the show focuses on how myths, technologies, and human psychology are related. In addition, it deals with vengeance, remorse, and some incomplete tasks. Moreover, its main focus is between god and evil, and the murders are just for the thrill.
